Our Home in Cedar Crest, NM

Our Family currently lives in the beautiful mountain community of Cedar Crest just east of Albuquerque, NM.

Janice Anthes

Janice retired in 2010 after 21 years with Sun Microsystems. She hired in to provide Technical support for the Sales team, from there she moved to management and the last 3 years she worked in the High Performance computing group.  Her biggest project was to lead the efforts to build one of the largest supercomputers in the world at the Pickle Research center in Austin TX.   When Sun was acquired by Oracle it seemed to be the perfect time to say good-bye and start the next phase of her life. Janice is an avid Dog enthusiast, actively showing our dogs in Obedience, Agility, Rally and Conformation, in addition to being an AKC Obedience and Rally Judge approved to judge all levels of both.  Judging gives Janice the opportunity to visit new places, meet people with like interests and observe some awesome working dogs from all over the country. To fill her spare time Janice teaches classes at Sandia Dog Obedience club and she and her Sheltie Rowdy & Flat-coat Tempe volunteer as Sunport K9 Ambassadors at the Albuquerque Airport.

John Anthes

After 38 years with Sandia National Laboratories, John retired at the end of 2011. He is enjoying having more time to spend on his hobbies and travel. John has recently taken up the sport of Scuba diving and joins a group of friends at least once a year in Bonaire.  John also has an extensive Antique Radio collection and is active in the local Antique Radio Club. He can be often found in his shop sprucing up the radios, most of which he has working and looking almost like new.  He has also become very active in a Sandia Labs retirement group called the Coronado Thunderbirds, they meet monthly on base at the Mountain view club.
